Half-Life > Half-Life 2 Episode 1 Half-Life 2: Episode 1 Released
Half-Life 2 ends leaving you wanting more and expecting more. Thats what you get here. Half-Life 2 begins where the original story ended at the point where the central core explodes. You would expect Gordon and Alyx to be dead after that, but of course there is an explanation.
After a couple of chapters of trying to escape the madness, you find yourself having to go back down into the core to disrupt it. Then you have to find your way back to the surface by way of elevators, stairs, and a train and try to make your way out of City 17. There are new enemies called 'stalkers' in this episode.
They have made some slight advances in the graphics it seems with more detailed textures in explosions, smoke, dust, and fire. The game seems to run a little more smooth, even with its faster paced action scenes. This could be due to driver updates. You must update your drivers for this game before it starts (Valve will prompt you for this if your current drivers are out of date and guide you through). Also, you don't have to have Half-Life to play Episode 1 as it is a stand alone game even though it still runs on Steam's engine.
Here are the chapters of the game:
- Chapter 1
- Chapter 2
- Chapter 3
- Chapter 4
- Chapter 5
- Chapter 6
